Overview of Role

Reporting to the regional Customer Product Development (CPD) Director, you will help lead the CPD team in ensuring that all Brand Partner configurations provide superior fit, performance and durability. You will oversee the Development Support Specialists and be a resource for them throughout the BOA development process. You will also build a deep understanding of BOA’s products, including how components interact with each other, the materials they are installed in and the environment in which they will be used. Using your knowledge and leadership, you will help direct the workflow and project priorities for your team, and you will be a contact when needed for Brand Partners and their factories so that the CPD team can meet the individual requirements of each project

Core Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Brand Partners in creating performance fit configurations
  • Provide detailed consultation on design guidelines to optimize fit, performance and durability
  • Work with Commercial and CPD Teams to ensure deliverables to Brand Partners and Factory Partners meet their development needs
  • Review all product samples with the CPD team, provide feedback, and assist with any necessary follow-up communication to Brand Partners, their factories, and/or our BOA Factory training teams regarding the findings of the review
  • Give final approval to Brand Partners on all products within your team’s segments, ensuring they meet performance fit, segment configuration strategy, durability, manufacturing capability and product differentiation needs of the segments
  • Maintain consistent communication and feedback with the regional CPD director on your team’s alignment with Global CPD strategy
  • Become an expert in the BOA product offering and build a complete understanding of installation requirements, ideal use, material properties, limitations, and how they perform in various configurations, applications, and environments
  • Work with BOA’s Factory Training teams and our Factory Partners to learn the correct installation of BOA’s products so that you can conduct training for Brand Partners or their factories when needed, and so you can help update BOA’s installation documents
  • Lead, coach and develop Development Support Specialists in all aspects of working with our Brand Partners to integrate BOA configurations into product design
  • Work with your direct reports to set and review performance/development goals, discuss feedback regularly throughout the year, and formally summarize during performance reviews
  • Regularly role model BOA’s values to your team and others

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience in product development (footwear development or footwear manufacturing preferred)
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude to quickly learn BOA’s products and components
  • Experience working on projects where limited standardization exists and variables change
  • Desire to use your organized project management approach to maintain our fast pace and manage multiple deadlines
  • Ability to collaborate and build relationships with diverse groups of people across the globe
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally, up to 20%
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and Power Point.
  • Fluent in English (written & spoken), German or Italian language skills would be a plus

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in footwear development or footwear manufacturing in one of the segments BOA operates in, ideally Athletics and/or Cycling
  • Ability to use graphic design software, preferably in the Adobe Suite
  • Knowledge of SolidWorks is a plus

Legal Statement

For legal reasons, we are obliged to point out the minimum salary for this position according to the collective agreement, which is from 2208.- EUR gross per month. However, our attractive salary packages are based on current market salaries and are therefore significantly above the stated minimum salary, depending on your experience and skills.
